Introduction of Computer

Computer is a man made electronic machine or device which can read, write, and compute the data. Computer can be used in different places such as school, office, bank hospital etc. Computer is the most important of human life because it saves times and energy. The word computer is taken out from the word compute. The most important part of the computer is monitor, key-board and C.P.U (Center Processing Unit).

Computer works on the two states of electric current that each on state and off state. Computer accepts data and instructions through the input devices, processes them according to instructions and produces output as information. The information produced by the computer helps officers, businessmen, scientists, chemists, teachers and many other people to take appropriate decisions. When a person is able to take correct decision on the basis of information, it certainly helps the person for his/her betterment, which in the turn, helps in the development of a country.

A computer is only such a device that produces 100% accurate information in a very short time from a large volume of data. Computer is not only used for retrieving information but it can be used for doing various tasks like creating a document, keeping account of daily business, preparing slides, composing music, etc. So, many people use computers for doing lot of tasks. You can see computers in shops, offices, organizations, hospitals, schools and almost at every working place. The demand of computer literate people is increasing day by day.

Computers perform their functions in three major steps:

A computer accepts the instructions from us and then performs the jobs as per our instructions. The instructions fed in will be processed in its processing unit and then the required output is given out.

Working of a Computer
A computer consists of a number of interrelated components that work together to convert data into information in a step-by-step process as directed by programs. So, a computer is also known as Information Processing Machine.
Every computer has the ability to:
Accept the data and instructions given by the user.
Process the data according to the given set of instructions.
Store and give information according to the requirement of the user.
